Biography Athar Haq, D.O., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Hospital Medicine. He provides clinical service at Parkland Memorial Hospital. Originally from West Covina, California, Dr. Haq holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of California-San Diego. He received his medical degree at Des Moines University in Iowa. He then completed internal medicine residency training at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Haq joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2014. He is an active member of the American College of Physicians and the American Osteopathic Association. Personal Note Dr. Haq is the president and founder of A Continuous Charity, a Muslim nonprofit organization that gives no-interest loans for higher education. He enjoys spending his free time with his three children.
