Biography

Maeghan Gibson, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of Endocrinology. Her clinical interests include medical education, quality improvement, and hospital epidemiology.

Originally from New Orleans, Dr. Gibson holds a bachelor's degree in biology from Florida State University in Tallahassee. She earned her medical degree at the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio. She then completed internal medicine residency training at UT Southwestern.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Gibson joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2017.

At UT Southwestern, Dr. Gibson is a Physician Advisor for the Utilization Review Committee, a member of the Internal Medicine Faculty Wellness Committee, and Chief of the Hospitalist and APP Wellness Committee. 

Dr. Gibson won the Exceptional Leader Award in the UT Southwestern Hospital Medicine Division, as well as the Mastering Tough Conversations Award in the Vital Talk- Mastering Tough Conversations Communication Course.

Dr. Gibson is a member of the American College of Physicians, the Society of Hospital Medicine, the Texas Medical Association, the American College of Physician Advisors, and the American Medical Association.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Gibson enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, reading, and exploring the great outdoors.
