  • Biography

    Dergham Alzubaidy, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in theĀ Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of Hospital Medicine. He also serves as Director of the Hospital Medicine Procedure Service and Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS).

    Dr. Alzubaidy earned his medical degree from the University of Baghdad College of Medicine in Iraq. He began his medical training in anesthesiology at Medical City Center in Baghdad, but shifted his focus to internal medicine, completing his internal medicine residency training at John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County in Chicago.

    He also served as a Health and Medical Advisor for the U.S. Department of Defense, where he developed training courses in upper airway management and resuscitation.

    Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Alzubaidy joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2014. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine.

    Outside of medicine, Dr. Alzubaidy enjoys outdoor activities and overseas travel.
