Dr. Taniguchi received his M.D. and Ph.D. from Kyushu University in Fukuoka, Japan.  He followed that with a residency in Internal Medicine at Kyushu University in Fukuoka, Japan and at the Shin-eikai Hospital. Upon completing his residency, he accepted a position at the Kidney Centers of Japan Seamen’s Relief Association Moji Hospital and St Mary’s Hospital. Additionally, he was appointed an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Clinical Science at the Graduate School of Medical Sciences at Kyushu University in Fukuoka, Japan. Dr. Taniguchi will be at UTSW for two years to enhance his understanding of molecular mechanisms of chronic kidney disease complications including vascular calcification and cardiac mouse models.
