Mary Mullican, M.D.

Mary Mullican, M.D., FACR, is an Associate Professor of Radiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Cardiothoracic Imaging Division. Her clinical interests include antegrade urography. 

Dr. Mullican holds a bachelor’s degree in zoology from the University of Oklahoma in Norman. She earned her medical degree at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City and then became the first woman not only to enter but complete the radiology residency program at UT Southwestern.

Prior to joining the UT Southwestern faculty in 1992, Dr. Mullican spent 20 years as a radiologist at Pasadena General Hospital in Pasadena, Texas, and served as Medical Director of the Radiography Program at San Jacinto College Central. 

Dr. Mullican focuses her research on general radiology, breast imaging, and diagnosis. She has published several original research articles. 

In addition to her clinical duties at UT Southwestern, Dr. Mullican serves on numerous advisory and operational committees within and outside of the institution. Most notably, she is actively involved with the Texas Radiological Society, which she serves as a member of the Board of Governors, Executive Committee, Fellowship Committee, Communications Committee, and Fellowship Committee. In 2015, the organization honored her with its Special Recognition Award.

Dr. Mullican is affiliated with multiple professional organizations, including the Texas Medical Association, the American Medical Association, the American Medical Women’s Association, American Women Radiologists, and the American College of Radiology, which inducted her as a Fellow in 2002. She also maintains membership in several county medical organizations, including those in Dallas, Harris, and Sebastian counties.
