Biography

Chaofeng Yang, Ph.D., is an Instructor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Endocrinology.

Originally from Hunan, China, Dr. Yang holds a bachelor's degree in biotechnology and a master's degree in biochemistry from China Agricultural University in Beijing. He earned his doctorate in biomedical sciences at Texas A&M Health Science Center.

Dr. Yang came to UT Southwestern as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the laboratory of Dr. Perry Bickel to study lipid droplet proteins. He then joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2017 as an Assistant Instructor. He was promoted to Instructor in 2019.

Dr. Yang's research interests include lipid droplet proteins in cells and their implications in lipid metabolism and metabolic syndrome with mouse models.
