Rachel Wooldridge, M.D.

Rachel Wooldridge, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Division of Surgical Oncology at UT Southwestern. She specializes in breast cancer surgery.

Dr. Wooldridge earned her medical degree at the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Medicine. She completed a residency in general surgery at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, New York, and performed her fellowship in breast surgical oncology at UT Southwestern.

Certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Wooldridge is also a member of a number of professional organizations including the American College of Surgeons, the Association of Women Surgeons, the Society of Surgical Oncology, the American Society of Breast Surgeons, and the American Medical Association.

At UT Southwestern, she is co-director of Cancer Genetics at the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center. Nationally, she has lectured on topics including the genetics of breast cancer and breast cancer in pregnancy.

Dr. Wooldridge’s clinical research interests include high-risk breast cancer, surgical options after neoadjuvant chemotherapy, and the role of MRI in breast cancer.

In 2018, Dr. Wooldridge received UT Southwestern's Patient and Family Recognition Award.

Dr. Wooldridge was included in D Magazine's Best Doctors list for 2019 and 2020.
