Biography Shani Shastri, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Nephrology. Originally from India, Dr. Shastri completed her medical education at K.J. Somaiya Medical Center in Mumbai, India. She holds a master's degree in public health from the University of Loma Linda in California. She completed internal medicine residency training at the University of Massachusetts and completed advanced training through a fellowship in nephrology at Tufts Medical Center. During her fellowship, she also earned a master’s degree in clinical research with a focus on epidemiology and outcomes. Dr. Shastri's research interests include investigations of aging and kidney disease and cardiovascular disease coupled with kidney disease. Education Medical School K.J.
