Biography

Ruth Gordillo, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and the Director of the UT Southwestern Metabolic Phenotyping Core. She is a member of the faculty in the Touchstone Diabetes Center.

Originally from Badajoz, Spain, Dr. Gordillo holds a bachelor's degree and master's degree in chemistry, as well as her doctorate in science and chemistry, from the Universidad de Extremadura in Spain. She completed postdoctoral fellowships in organic chemistry at Universidad de Extremadura and physical organic chemistry and computational chemistry at the University of California Los Angeles.

Dr. Gordillo joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2015.

She specializes in the development of LC/MS/MS technologies for the determination and quantification of metabolites.
