Biography Christine Hwang, M.D., is an expert in organ transplant surgery, and during her time at UT Southwestern she has served as the surgical director of liver transplantation at the William P. Clements, Jr., University Hospital. She has received recognition from the American Transplant Congress and World Transplant Congress for her presentations and has authored book chapters on pediatric organ transplantation and laparoscopic surgery and also journal articles about pediatric kidney and liver transplants. Dr. Hwang earned her medical degree from Georgetown University and performed a surgical residency at Southern Illinois University. She then completed a surgery fellowship at Stanford University, where she was also a clinical instructor. Dr. Hwang came to UT Southwestern in 2011 and is currently an associate professor of surgery.
