Biography

Thai Pham, M.D., joined the faculty of UT Southwestern in 2010, where he now serves as an associate professor of surgery. He is also the chief of general surgery at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Pham is the recipient of the Laycock-Snyder Faculty Scholar Award from the UT Southwestern Department of Surgery. 

Dr. Pham has been an investigator in large studies supported by the VA and the National Institutes of Health, which focused on gastroesophageal reflux, functions of the intestine, and transfusions after cardiac operations. He earned his medical degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson and performed a surgical residency and a research fellowship at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. Afterwards, Dr. Pham underwent fellowship training in research and minimally invasive surgery at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland.
